How the work splits

What you do at home in Colleyville, and what happens with us.

Texas teen drivers ed has four pieces. Two of them happen in your own neighborhood.

At home

24-hour online course

Starts at 14, TDLR-approved, $99. After the first 6 hours your teen can take the knowledge test and get a learner license at 15.

With us

14 in-car hours

7 hours driving and 7 observing with a certified instructor, on Arlington streets and highways, practicing the maneuvers the road test scores.

At home

30 logged hours

Practice with a parent, 10 hours at night. Quiet Colleyville streets are a good start; Hwy 121 and SH-26 traffic come later.

With us

The road test

At 16 or older, after the permit has been held 6 months and Impact Texas Teen Drivers is done within 90 days.

A parent’s story

Why drive to Arlington for the test?

Northeast Tarrant County has other road test options, and some families will be closer to them. What we can offer is simple: Saturday road test slots, a school car if you need one, and for teens who train with us, a test in the same car they practiced in.

If your teen trains with us, the road test is the last step with an instructor they already know. If they trained somewhere else or through parent-taught drivers ed, a $50 practice road test or the $175 lesson plus test gives them an hour to get used to our car first.

Teen driving school near Colleyville

What the drive to Arlington gets you.

Trained and tested in one placeThe owner, Mohammad Mohsin Hassan, teaches many lessons and is a DPS-authorized examiner, so lesson feedback lines up with how the test is scored. A female instructor is available on request.
Saturday road testsSeven days a week by appointment. Saturday works well around school and sports.
Highway timeLessons include highway merging, not just parking-lot drills, so the first solo trip on 121 is not the first time at speed.
Getting here: from Colleyville, take Hwy 121 south to TX-360, continue south to Arkansas Ln, then west to Cooper St. We are in Cooper Street Commons, Suite 307. Allow about 25 to 30 minutes.

Is there a driving school near Colleyville that does teen behind-the-wheel hours?
Yes. Colleyville teens complete the 14 required in-car hours with a certified instructor at our Arlington academy, about 25 to 30 minutes south on Hwy 121 and TX-360. It is $440 for the 14 hours, or $530 for the full package with the 24-hour online course (permit test included) and the DE-964 certificate.
My teen did parent-taught drivers ed. Can they take the road test with you?
Yes. Parent-taught students take the official road test here like anyone else, once they have the DE-964, a learner license held 6 months and Impact Texas Teen Drivers within 90 days. See our self-taught course support for $109.
Can lessons fit around the Colleyville Heritage or Grapevine High schedule?
Lessons are by appointment, seven days a week from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Weekend slots fit around a school week.
Do you pick up students in Colleyville?
Our pickup service stops at the Arlington city limits, so Colleyville teens are dropped off at 1030 W Arkansas Ln, Suite 307. A parent can wait nearby or come back after the lesson.
Which DPS office do Colleyville drivers use for the license card?
The Hurst driver license office serves much of Northeast Tarrant County. Book it on the DPS scheduler and bring your road test results.
What are the rules after my teen passes?
Under 18, a provisional license means no driving from midnight to 5 AM except for work, school or a medical emergency, only one passenger under 21 who is not family, and no wireless devices while driving.
