Every new Texas driver completes the Impact Texas Drivers distracted-driving course before the road test: ITTD for teens, ITAD for adults. It is the required Impact Texas Drivers course; you can buy it from us for $30 and complete it online at home.

When to take it
The certificate must be dated within 90 days of the road test. Count back from your test date.
Book the road test first, or know roughly when you plan to take it.
Your certificate must be dated inside the 90 days before that date.
Complete the course online at home, close to the test date.
Bring it to the road test with your other documents.
Where it fits
Teens: online drivers ed course, learner license, behind-the-wheel hours, ITTD, then the road test.
Adults: the 6-hour adult course if you are 18 to 24, learner license, ITAD, then the road test.
